Underwear Over the Web

Posted on by Chief Marketer Staff

Just in time for whoever was naughty or nice, Victoria’s Secret launched an e-commerce site last month to ply its under-wares.

The site (www.victoriassecret.com) has an online shop that sells lingerie, sleepwear, bedding, bath and fragrance products and gift certificates; a “Bra Salon” where customers can receive detailed instructions on proper undergarment fit; and a “Glam Lounge” offering behind-the-scenes looks at Victoria’s Secret fashion shows and shoots.

Resource Marketing of Columbus, OH developed the site, which the company sees as an extension of the Victoria’s Secret brand.

“There is not a thing our customers can do, including visiting our shop or reading our catalog, that allows them to experience the Victoria’s Secret brand in its full scope the way this Web site does,” says Ed Razek, president of The Limited brand and creative services. The Limited is the majority shareholder in Victoria’s Secret’s parent company, Intimate Brands Inc.
