Pop-Tarts Keeps American Idol Tour Warm

Kellogg Co. is gearing up to go on the road again with American Idol again as presenting sponsor of The American Idols Live! Tour.

The concert tour features finalists from the 2006 season of American Idol. This is the fifth year that Pop-Tarts has sponsored the tour, which runs July 6 through Sept. 2, with performances in 41 cities.

Pop-Tarts will host pre-concert events including Crazy Good Dancing and Karaoke, and will sample its newest flavor, Mint Chocolate Chip. Concert fans can again pose for photos with American Idol standees, then collect their photos from an online gallery.

Last year, Pop-Tarts touted the tour with an in-pack instant-win game. Game codes in 60 million packages of Pop Tarts and Corn Pops cereal awarded five grand-prize trips for two to Los Angeles to attend a recording session for a past or current Idol finalist. Twenty-five first-prize winners got a signed tour T-shirt; 2,500 second-prize winners got a compilation CD. A limited-edition “Tour Celebration Pack” of Wild Strawberry Pop-Tarts with blue frosting and star sprinkles also supported the 2005 tour.
