P&G Tunes Up Spring Break Offer

Procter & Gamble is putting a soundtrack to spring-cleaning.

Five P&G brands
harmonize on sampler CDs

Five of P&G’s cleaning brands are taking part in Take the Bore Out of the Chore, a spring-cleaning promo that gives a CD sampler with purchase.

Shoppers who buy two items from Mr. Clean, Swiffer, Dawn, Cascade or Febreze can mail in to get one of three compilation CDs: Cool Clean Classics (with KC & The Sunshine Band, B-52’s, The Ramones), Fresh Clean Beats (with En Vogue, Ryan Cabrera, The Corrs) or Hip Hop: Uncluttered (with Aretha Franklin, Sugarhill Gang, Queen Latifah). Warner Strategic Marketing produced the CDs for Cincinnati-based P&G.

P&G kicked off the promotion earlier this month by putting the three CDs in goody bags given to 2005 Grammy presenters. The consumer offer runs through June.

An online sweepstakes awards a grand prize of $5,000 toward an entertainment center; $1,500 cash; and $500 for spring-cleaning supplies. Entrants answer several questions about word-of-mouth brand recommendations and their propensity to try new brands.
