OfficeMax Rides Chicago Baseball Rivalry

OfficeMax is using an instant-win game to activate its sponsorship of this weekend’s Crosstown Classic series between Chicago’s Cubs and White Sox.

The What’s Your Team? Sweeps will award a grand-prize “ultimate fan experience” with the winner’s favorite team: tickets to a home game, watch pre-game batting practice, throw the first pitch and have dinner with a team personality.

Ten thousand lesser prizes include an ESPN Zone private party, HP digital cameras, team posters and discounts at OfficeMax and ESPN Zone. Game pieces are distributed in-store and at the baseball games June 24-26.

The first 20,000 fans at the June 24 game get a commemorative cup. Strategic Sports Group, New York, handles.

“This promotional program capitalizes on our knowledge of the Chicago area and our ability to provide exactly what our shoppers need when they need it,” said OfficeMax Senior VP-Marketing Scott Williams in a statement.
