Gillette Runs College Football ‘GameFace’ Play

Gillette is giving college football fans a chance to put on a game face for their favorite team, with the winner scoring an appearance in a national TV spot during January’s college bowl season.

To compete in Gillette’s “GameFace” contest, fans can submit photos or videos of themselves with their toughest game faces to www.GilletteGameFace.com. Randomly selected weekly winners will win prizes including an Xbox gaming console, an EA Sports football game, a branded Gillette football and a Gillette shaving pack.

Fans can vote for their favorite game faces on the site throughout the season. The grand-prize winner receives a trip for four to ESPN headquarters in Bristol, CT. The contest winner will watch a full day of college football games and help ESPN commentators review the day’s action as an analyst.

He or she will also be featured in a Gillette GameFace TV spot to run on ESPN during the January peak of the college football bowl season.

“We’re looking to find the college football fan who can best display their favorite school’s pride in the most unique way,” said Michelle Potorski, associate marketing director for Gillette male blades and razors, in a statement.

“Show us your gameface,” is the tagline for the promotion that’s clearly targeting the fanatic college football core: male college students and alumni who were recently graduated.

Each week of the season, Gillette will pitch its tent on a college campus with the Fusion GameFace tour, a gameface display and different events. Fans can also register to be picked as the Game Face of the year on site during the tour stops.
