Tim Hortons Brings Back ‘Roll Up’ Promo

Posted on by Chief Marketer Staff

Tim Hortons is back with its Roll Up The Rim To Win promotion offering the chance to win more than 31 million prizes, including 2009 Toyota Venzas.

Customers who buy a medium or large hot beverage at participating stores in the U.S., or Canada, can roll up the rim of their specially marked cups to see if they have won a prize. The company is giving away 35 Toyota Venza V6 AWD vehicles, 100 cash prizes of $10,000 each, Toshiba laptops, $100 Tim Card gift cards and food prizes.

In all, 281,686,000 cups have been produced for the contest, Tim Hortons said. The cups will be available through May 1.

And this year, the promotion includes an online element. Visitors can enter the Daily Roll Up Contest for a chance to win coffee for a year. The contest runs through March 22.

The company also launched a similar promotion for military personnel serving at Kandahar Air Field in Afghanistan where Tim Hortons operates a food-service trailer. Prizes include five cash prizes of $1,000, 100 Toshiba Laptops, 1,000 Tim Hortons Kandahar hats and food prizes.

Online marketing, TV spots, radio spots, in-store P-O-P and FSIs support the promotion.
