Starbucks Cools off Customers with Free Beverages

Posted on by Chief Marketer Staff

It’s hot out there and Starbucks plans to cool off a few regulars—and entice a few new customers—with free iced coffee.

Next Tuesday, Starbucks will give each person that walks into its stores in the Southeast region between 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. a complimentary Grande Mocha or Caramel Frappuccino blended beverage.

The promotion is an effort to show appreciation for its customers, the company said.

This summer, the company rolled out new fruit-flavored Frappuccinos with a host of promotions. Starbucks baristas cruised around on pedal-powered bikes fitted with juice blenders so customers could see—and taste—first hand how the drinks were made. The new flavored are Pomegranate Frappuccino and Tangerine Frappuccino (PROMO August 2006).
