Delta SkyMiles Teams with Netflix for Miles

Posted on by Chief Marketer Staff

Delta Airlines is giving it loyalty club members a new way to rack up miles—watching movies from home.

The airline has joined forces with online DVD movie rental service Netflix to dole out a one-time bonus of 1,500 miles when SkyMiles members subscribe for the service. To join, SkyMiles members visit ShopMyWay.com/netflixskymiles and register with Netflix. To be eligible for the incentive, members must be a new Netflix subscriber.

The membership lets customers choose from nine different subscription plans, which range between $9.99 to $29.99. Netflix’s most popular program lets subscribers rent an unlimited number DVDs, with three out at a time. Members receive DVDs in the mail. There are no due dates, late fees or shipping fees under the subscription.

“Our partnership with Netflix is yet another example of how the SkyMiles program provides members additional benefits through its unique network of partnerships,” said Jeff Robertson, managing director of the SkyMiles program, in a statement.

Delta’s partnership with Netflix is the latest in a team of partners the airline has formed to let loyalty club members earn additional miles in its SkyMiles program. Other partners include hotels, car rental companies, telecommunication services, restaurants, floral and gift retailers and financial, mortgage and realty services.
