Bacardi Silver Ties with Sex and the City

Bacardi Silver has partnered with Turner Broadcasting System and reruns of the sizzling hit series Sex and the City to drive brand awareness and sales.

The Turn on TBS, Turn on the Flavor campaign kicks off May 16 with plenty of in-store promotions and sweepstakes.

At Bacardisilver.com sweeps players can participate in the Shop ‘Til You Drop sweepstakes for a chance to win a trip to New York City, featuring plenty of Sex and the City-style perks, Bacardi said. The sweeps runs through early July.

Some 15 grand-prize winners get a trip for three to New York that includes a private fashion show at Bloomingdales, a double-decker bus tour of the city, a Broadway show and other surprises.

TBS, which airs the reruns of Sex and the City, the first time the series has been off HBO, will broadcast teasers about the sweeps. TBS is in 88 million homes. TBS airs the series Tuesdays at 9 pm and Wednesdays at 10 pm.

At retail, a take-one recipe booklet, called Oh So Good, details drink recipes that include Bacardi Silver and promotes the sweepstakes.

Outdoor ads in more than 50 markets and print ads in national consumer magazines including Us Weekly, Entertainment Weekly and People support.

Sex and the City is a candid, comic view of the enduring friendship among four new York women as they struggle to find love in Manhattan’s dating scene. It stars Sarah Jessica Parker, Kim Cattrall, Kristin Davis and Cynthia Nixon.
