7-Eleven Joins Pink Ribbon Efforts

Posted on by Chief Marketer Staff

At 7-Eleven stores customers can purchase for $6.99 a pink 16-ounce coffee mug sporting pink-ribbon art.

The first hot beverage is included and a portion of the proceeds will benefit breast cancer research. (The retailer sells more than 1 million cups of coffee each day.)

For those of a certain age—drinking age—Mike’s Hard Lemonade Co. has brewed up a limited edition pink version of its popular hard lemonade, called Mike’s Hard Pink Lemonade.

The beverages can be purchased at 7-Eleven stores for $7.99. Mike’s is contributing $250,000 to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation, which will fund a researcher for one year. The donation was made in memory of a long-time Mike’s employee who lost her battle with breast cancer last December.

Other pink-ribbon products supporting the cause include bookmarks, pins, a bear backpack clip, pen, necklace, keychain, ID badge, car magnet, sticky notes with pen, and a ceramic mug. 7-Eleven will donate 5% of the retail sales price to Susan G. Komen for the Cure for each product sold.
