McDonald’s To Give 25,000 Coupons at Expo

Posted on by Chief Marketer Staff

McDonald’s USA is providing free Wi-Fi Internet services to attendees at the 2006 Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3 Expo), and is offering consumers a chance to sample the service via a coupon offer.

As the official QSR and Wi-Fi sponsor of the E3 Expo, McDonald’s plans to distribute some 25,000 coupons for free Wi-Fi service in more than 7,000 McDonald’s nationwide. Coupons are being distributed at the three-day Expo in Los Angeles, which ends Friday, and can be redeemed for a free hour of Internet access.

The QSR introduced free Wi-Fi services for Nintendo’s DS players in Wi-Fi-enabled restaurants (more than 7,000) in the U.S. (Xtra, Oct. 20). Non-gamers pay $2.95 for a two-hour wireless Internet connection in participating restaurants.

Tribal DDB, Chicago, arranged the sponsorship.
