Warner Bros. Rolls Out Scooby-Doo Halloween Sweeps

Scooby-Doo is giving out early treats in a Halloween promotion dangling spooky podcasts and a chance to win $25,000.

Fans can take part in the hair-raising action at Scooby-Doo.com and fill their virtual trick-or-treat bags with downloads, including Halloween-themed wallpapers, screen savers and buddy icons. The Scooby-Doo.com Web site, which targets kids two to 12 and their parents, gives visitors a chance to interact with Scooby-Doo characters in new ways.

And starting next week, kids can download the first of several new Scooby-Doo Mystery podcasts. Each six- to eight-minute podcast is modeled after the classic Scooby-Doo TV episodes. In The Metal Monster, which airs Oct. 16, Scooby-Doo and Shaggy on a deep sea fishing adventure in the Gulf of Mexico. Caught in a storm, the two is stranded on a scary ghost ship.

In addition, visitors can enter the Rowling Ralloween sweepstakes for a chance to a win a $25,000 grand prize or other prizes. To enter, fans upload a photo of their dog or cat dressed in a Halloween costume online to Rogsruvem.com. The second- and third-place winners will receive $5,000 and $2,500, respectively. Lesser prizes include smaller cash awards, digital phone frames and photo merchandise gift certificates. Winners will be announced Nov. 15.

The sweepstakes, sponsored by Del Monte Foods, runs through Oct. 31. Online materials support. Warner Bros. handles in-house.
