Posted on by Chief Marketer Staff

Video gamer Konami has teamed up with Subway Restaurants to give away merchandise tied to its best-selling, get-up-and-move video game, DanceDanceRevolution, with Subway Fresh Fit for Kids Meals.

The six types of free premiums include armbands, water bottles, disco ball sparklers, pencil toppers, photo holders and bobble heads. All items come with the meals that are served in bags branded with images from the video game.

Along with the premium, customers will receive a $10 coupon with each purchase of a Fresh Fit For Kids Meal good for a discount on any of the newest DanceDanceRevolution games.

The Subway campaign is the latest in a series of initiatives to heighten the profile of DanceDanceRevolution as a vehicle to promote fitness, particularly among young people. The video game has been incorporated into the physical fitness curriculum in school districts around the country, including all schools in West Virginia.

Subway is building awareness for the giveaway with TV spots set to air between Feb. 9 and March 29, when the promotion ends.

The offer is also being promoted on the home page of the online
DanceDanceRevolution community.
