Pepsi and DUB Magazine Throw Online Auto Show

Pepsi has partnered with automotive lifestyle brand DUB and its annual custom auto show in an online contest that lets consumers post their own tricked-out autos to a microsite for a chance to win prizes.

The Pepsi Street Motion DUB Magazine Custom Auto eShow Contest lets participants send in online photographs of their customized vehicles to determine the “hottest” in each of six categories: full-size class, SUV, truck, sport compact, “old skool” (any car built before 1985) and motorcycle/bikes. Sixteen semi-finalists will be chosen in each of the six categories who will be paired up to compete in match-up rounds before one semi-finalist is chosen in each category. The six “Class Winners” will compete with one landing the “best in show” vehicle and the grand prize. The entry period ends today, Pepsi said.

Pepsi is also using the promotion to build its Pepsi World database. Those who want to participate in the online auto show must also register to join Pepsi World to be able to access exclusive Pepsi-branded contests and sweepstakes. Registrants can opt in to receive a Pepsi World e-mail newsletter twice per month featuring offers, info on promotions and events and samples or sign up for the Dewsletter, which once a month sends members news of sweepstakes, games, Mountain Dew events, products, coupons and product samples.

Visitors to DUBPublishing.com can cast their votes for their favorite customer vehicles from Nov. 1 through Nov. 30 in the various match-up rounds. Judges from DUB Publishing will rate the six finalists and apply point values based on such criteria as overall paint job, body work, engine modifications, wheels and tires, interior, audio and suspension.

The six Class Winners each get a $500 DUB gift card, a photo and mention in a DUB Magazine, and a set of 20-inch car rims, including installation. The grand-prize is a $1,000 DUB gift card, a photo write up in DUB, a trip for two to the DUB Magazine Custom Auto Show next year and a $200 American Express cash card.

The promotion is marketed on the home page at DUBPublishing.com as well as Pepsi.com. Print ads in DUB support.
