Little Debbie Offers Prizes in Exchange for Ad Viewing

Little Debbie, in a marketing partnership with NASCAR, is giving out prizes to consumers who watch its online commercial and correctly answer a question.

Consumers watch the ad at LittleDebbie500.com, answer a question and then submit an entry form. A viral component lets players increase their chances of winning by giving them one additional entry form for each referral.

In the ad, a young man is listening to a NASCAR race as he pulls into a Value Mart and gets out to go buy a snack. As he stands by the rack of Little Debbie snacks, he turns to the life-size P-O-P display next to it of a NASCAR driver and says, ‘Ken Schrader, is that you?’ The real Schrader, with his mouth full of Little Debbie snacks, answers ‘Maybe.’ When the young man asks, ‘But whose driving the car?,’ the image cuts away to a speeding car on the race track driven by the life-size P-O-P display of Schrader. A voice over shouts, ‘Oh my goodness, the Little Debbie car is going the wrong way.’ The question to consumers asks: ‘What delicious Little Debbie Snack was I enjoying in the commercial?’

The promotion, which features 1,500 prizes, includes 500 grand prize limited edition Little Debbie Ford die cast cars; 500 first-place prizes of Little Debbie Ford remote control cars and 500 second-place prizes of Little Debbie race packs, including a seat cushion, a Little Debbie racing hat, and a set of small binoculars. The promotion ends Nov. 20. P-O-P supports.

Schrader started in all Nextel Cup races this year and is currently No. 30 in the Nextel Cup standings. Schrader, 51, is the oldest and most active Cup driver in NASCAR. He plans to compete in more than 100 races this year, including all 36 Nextel Cup races, 10 NASCAR Busch Series races, West Series, ARCA, Southwest Tour Series, and smaller races on a number of dirt tracks.
