Intercontinental Hotel Opens Online Gathering Place for Loyalty Members

Posted on by Chief Marketer Staff

The Intercontinental Hotel Group has created a central online gathering place for its 42 million loyalty members.

The service lets members share their travel experiences and talk to management through a video blog. Based on questions that members submit through, executives will create a video to answer the questions and post it on the site for members to view. Special member offers will also be provided through the service.

The new community platform, called Priority Club Connect, is powered by social business software provider Jive.

“This initiative is one of the ways we’re engaging some of our most valued customers,” Cassandra Jeyaram, social marketing manager for IHG said in a release. “We see the Jive software platform as an opportunity to continue to expand our social marketing initiatives with relative ease and minimal costs.”

The community is in a pilot phase with full launch in the next few weeks, spokesperson Stephen Boggs said.

The community also paves the way for new members to join. Non-members can visit the site but in order to post commentary, they need to sign up for a free Priority Club Rewards membership.
