Degree Taps Suck-Up for Sampling

Posted on by Chief Marketer Staff

Unilever brings Degree for Men’s Suck-Up to the streets for a 10-city sampling blitz that begins this week.

The Suck-Up is one of three “In-Action Heroes” featured in Degree’s tongue-in-cheek TV spots that purport to sell “action figures” that don’t take risks (like “Mama’s Boy”). Sampling crews will station themselves in high-traffic areas with an oversized toy box housing a man dressed as the Suck-Up. Crews will give out Degree samples, targeting men 18 to 35, while the Suck-Up entertains passers by.

Teams will sample this week in Atlanta, Philadelphia, San Francisco, Dallas/Ft. Worth and Washington, DC; and the week of May 16 in Boston, Chicago, Detroit, Los Angeles and New York City.

141 Worldwide, Chicago, handles sampling; Javelin, St. Louis, created and staffed the human toy boxes. Weber Shandwick Worldwide, Chicago, handles p.r.
