Andover, MA-based Internet marketing conglomerate CMGI agreed to pay $520 million in stock to acquire permission-based e-mail marketer Yesmail.com, Vernon Hills, IL. The four-year-old Yesmail.com operation sends customized advertising and promotional messages to consumers who sign up in exchange for services and rewards. Yesmail.com claims to have a database of more than eight million member addresses and sends an average of one million e-mails daily for such clients as AT&T, Buy.com, and Fingerhut.
