Bravo Brings New Sponsor Menu to ‘Top Chef’

Bravo has added two new sponsors to the mix for its “Top Chef” popular cable TV reality series: Quaker and Swanson Broth.

When the next season starts next Wednesday night, Diet Dr. Pepper, Glad Products and Toyota will be reprising their sponsorship roles from last season. All the sponsorship deals are multi-platform, assuring the respective players of a significant on-air and online presence.

Diet Dr. Pepper sponsors weekly live voting among viewers on the “Top Chef” Web site to determine each week’s winners. While they’re voting, viewers can also enter to win a free trip to New York City to see a taping of the show in the co-sponsored “Top Chef” Foodie Flyaway Sweepstakes.

Products of all the sponsors are integrated into the series. Toyota, which provides its Sequoia’s as the vehicles to ferry the chefs around Manhattan, is offering a 2010 Toyota Venza to this season’s overall winner.

The other sponsors are each branding one of the Quickfire challenges that occur during each episode of the series.

“’Top Chef’’s alliance with our sponsors has produced real results in brand recall, brand opinion lift and program engagement—the highest in all of television,” said Susan Malfa, senior vice president of ad sales for Bravo Media and Oxygen Media.

Bravo also continues its series partnership with Food & Wine magazine for the show’s fifth season.

Bravo has archived a “best of” review of its past five seasons on its site.
