Adding a One-of-a-Kind Offer to Impress Loyalists

Chase Credit Cards Services and British Airways are adding some layers to their loyalty program to keep pace with card members expectations.

To encourage people to use their British Airways Visa cards more frequently, card members who use the card at any NYC Michelin Guide 2011 star-rated restaurant will receive a $50 statement credit. And, it gets better. Card members who use the card at a second star-rated restaurant will receive an additional $50 statement credit, for a total of $100.

The deal is not only a way to reward members for using their cards, but to offer a discounted experience at some of the world’s top restaurants in New York City.

New York City is one of the world’s great travel destinations and our British Airway Visa card members not only travel to New York frequently, but many of our card members also live there,” Ralph Darmo, marketing director, Chase Card Services, said.

Card members also have access to a private dining consultant who can help make reservations, and may receive complimentary VIP treatment at select restaurant locations.

At a dedicated website, card members learn about the promotion and find a list of recommended restaurants, where they are located, the type of cuisine, dining style and phone number. If you’re not a cardholder, a link to “apply now” makes it easy to sign up. Three star restaurants include, Daniel, Jean Georges, Le Bernardin, Masa and Per Se.

The offer is being marketed to card members through newspaper advertisements in the Wall Street Journal and New York Times, e-mail and online.

“We also hope that card members will tell friends about their experience,” Darmo said.

Visa is helping cardholders do just that with its new tool on its Facebook page called Memory Mapper. The free app uses Google Maps satellite technology and cardholders photos, videos, captions and music to produce visual keepsakes of their travels that they can then share with friends.
