Whitmarsh Retires From London’s International DM Fair

Posted on by Chief Marketer Staff

Malcolm Whitmarsh will retire later this month, leaving his post as marketing industry director at Reed Exhibitions.

In 1982, Whitmarsh took over the management of the International Direct Marketing Fair, held annually in London.

“It’s been a rare privilege to be able to start work within a relatively new and burgeoning sector and see it grow into a major international force that employs thousands of people,” said Whitmarsh in a statement. “I have enjoyed working with so many interesting, innovative and delightful individuals over the years, many of whom I’m sure will remain firm friends.”

The 2007 DM Fair is slated for May 1-3 at Earls Court 2 in London. The event will feature a new series of seminar theatres in the exhibition hall. The “Knowledge Village” will cover topics including B-to-B, B-to-C, and the “Mailroom of the Future.”

The fair will run concurrently with Ithaca’s Internet World exhibition. For information, visit www.idmf.co.uk.
