Customers Asked to Share Handy Uses for Vaseline
Packaging innovations continue to improve the consumer experience and sales. Oreo developed its self-closing, pullback seal. Uncle Ben’s developed a pullout spout to more easily pour rice from the box and the list goes on. One of the latest innovations comes from Vaseline Petroleum Jelly. It has introduced new packaging that features a flip cap so people can use it with one hand.
The new packaging coincides with the brand’s 140th anniversary and over the decades customers have found untold ways of using the product other than its original intended purpose: a topical healing ointment. Just a few of the creative uses include greasing squeaky doors and rusty bolts, polishing shoes and taming wild eyebrows.
As part of the anniversary celebration and the debut of the new packaging, Vaseline wants to hear from its customers about the many ways they use the product. The brand will compile 140 of the best uses in a video montage to share with others.
The promotion, “How do you flip for Vaseline Petroleum Jelly?” is located at a new Vaseline Facebook Community and Twitter page. Everyone who participates in the promotion will be entered in a sweepstakes through Dec. 31 for a chance to win a limited edition jar of Vaseline Petroleum Jelly, which has been bedazzled with Swarovski crystals.
A new product, Vaseline Petroleum Jelly Rich Conditioning Cocoa Butter joins Original Vaseline Petroleum Jelly and Vaseline Petroleum Jelly Baby.
