How to Connect with the Connected

One of the more interesting little research overlaps in the last few weeks has been the question of whether online ads are more effective in blogs or in social networks. At the end of October, a study done by Jupiter Media and commissioned by BuzzLogic found that blog readers tended to trust ads and product content in their favorite blogs more than they did information picked up from social networks. Frequent blog readers (reading more than one blog at least once a month) were about twice as likely to base a purchase decision on blog ads as they were on anything they got from a social network.
