AAdvantage Members Check Out Vegas Sweeps

American Airlines is running an online sweeps to teach AAdvantage members about its check-in services.

The Vegas Check-In Challenge will award a grand prize of 50,000 AAdvantage miles, a trip for two to Las Vegas and entry in Harrah’s separate Set for Life sweepstakes (which dangles its own grand prize of $100,000 a year for 20 years).

First prize is 25,000 AAdvantage miles; three second-prize winners get a $2,000 American Airlines Vacations gift check.

AAdvantage members go to aa.com and take a quiz about American’s four check-in options (curbside, online, self-service and agent) to enter the sweeps. Players earn up to six extra entries by opting in for AAdvantage e-mail (one entry), forwarding promo info to friends (up to four entries) and registering on the site (up to one entry).

Passengers who use online or self-service check-in are automatically entered in the sweeps. The promo runs through Nov. 15 via DDB Worldwide, Dallas.

Harrah’s Set For Life sweeps wraps up Dec. 11 with a prize-drawing event in Las Vegas, broadcast to Harrah’s 22 other properties. Three finalists at each property participate in the prize drawing. Entrants must be members of Harrah’s Total Rewards loyalty program. (American’s grand-prize winner will be Harrah’s 70th entrant.)

Nine prizes include the $2 million grand-prize; BMW Z4 for Life (four cars); Cruise for Life with Royal Caribbean International (20 three-day cruises); Travel for Life on American Airlines (1 million AAdvantage miles); Macy’s Shopping Sprees for Life ($20,000 in gift cards); Sharper Image Shopping Sprees for Life ($20,000 in gift cards); Flowers for Life from 1 800 Flowers.com (240 gift certificates each worth $60); Godiva Chocolates for Life ($7,200 in gift cards); and Blockbuster Movie Rentals for Life (1,040 movie rental cards).
