Quora Gets Into Blogging, but Does Anyone Care?

Posted on

Quora logoOn Wednesday Q&A website Quora unveiled its Blogs product, which is exactly what it sounds like. According to the company’s blog post announcing the new addition to the site, this new feature is ideal for two sets of people: 1) those who don’t already have a big, established online presence; and 2) those who don’t want to spend the time and energy of marketing their blog and slowly building up an audience.

“If you are a good writer but don’t have thousands of Twitter followers or a big audience for your blog, Quora is an ideal place to write,” the company says. “Your blog will be discovered quickly without you having to do any work besides writing. Writing one great post on Quora will attract a big audience, no matter how many people already know or follow you.”

Quora notes that it can promise strong distribution with minimal work because its questions, answers and blog posts are categorized by relevant topics. Since each topic has a healthy audience, users will see blog posts in the categories they’re following. This, of course, isn’t a guarantee that every single person following your topic will see your blog post
