Posted on

SmartBear Software, a provider of tools for software developers, has put together an infographic detailing how costly it is for companies that have poorly performing websites. This visual walkthrough “highlights the brutal consequences of less-than-awesome load times and poor mobile performance year round,” according to the company. Here are some of the interesting tidbits included in the infographic:

– 57 percent of Web users will leave a website after three seconds

– a one-second increase in load time causes 11 percent fewer page views, a 16 percent decline in customer satisfaction and a 7 percent loss in conversions

– websites that load in 1-2 seconds have the highest conversion rates

– 1 in 4 Americans only surf the Web on mobile devices

– 74 percent of users will leave a website if it doesn’t load on their smartphone after five seconds
