5 Things Small Businesses Should Do With Facebook Nearby

Posted on

FacebookFacebook updated its “Nearby” feature in its iOS and Android mobile apps back in mid-December. Now that the revamped Nearby is widely rolled out and with Graph Search on its way to more and more users, it’s high time for small businesses to consider how they can take advantage of Nearby to squeeze out all the location-based marketing goodness they can. Here are five things small businesses should be doing with Facebook Nearby now:

1) Be discoverable: claim your business page, report rogue pages to Facebook for deletion, make sure your Timeline and About section are updated

2) Be local: frame your approach with how you’ll be prepared when users find us where they are

3) Be social: encourage word-of-mouth sharing with Nearby

4) Be mobile: try to build in “on-the-spot appeal” for mobile users

5) Be proactive: encourage customers to engage with your locations via Nearby, think about how to integrate it into other strategies and prepare for Graph Search
