Duracell is out with a cause marketing campaign that uses a contest to find young brand ambassadors to visit sick children in hospitals nationwide.
The battery manufacturer is hosting an online and in-person casting call for children ages six to 15 searching for the best photos and videos that show enthusiasm when opening or powering up a gift for the first time.
The contest is part of a nationwide search Duracell launched to find three holiday ambassadors, who will deliver batteries and toys to a local children’s hospital.
To enter, parents can upload entries to http://www.PowerASmile.com through Nov. 10. In addition to enthusiasm, judges will also consider entrants’ overall charisma and suitability as a spokesperson, the company said.
Five grand-prize winners will receive a three-day trip for two to New York City to meet child actress Abigail Breslin best known for her role in “Little Miss Sunshine,” $500 toward a shopping spree and Duracell batteries. Two winners will be chosen via in-person casting calls and three from online entries.
Online marketing supports the promotion.
