Touchdown, Obama!

Posted on by Tim Parry

The good news I stimulated the economy last week: Bought Madden 09 for the Wii. Bad news is I haven’t had a chance to play yet. More bad news, I won’t get to see any Barrack Obama billboards adorn my stadium.

It’s true: In certain undecided states, the Obama campaign is advertising in video games.

So if you’re playing a game like Madden or Guitar Hero in the following states, you’ll be hit with an ad for VoteforChange.com, according to the Associated Press: Ohio, Iowa, Indiana, Montana, Wisconsin, North Carolina, Nevada, New Mexico, Florida and Colorado.

Pretty sweet if you ask me. Get some of these slacker gamers off their butts and into a voting booth. That is, if advertising in video games works the way it’s supposed to, getting today’s youth to drink Coke instead of Pepsi because Mario tells them to. And if the Obama campaign has the cash to do that, God bless them.

I wonder if the campaign is going to head Sarah Palin off at the pass and advertise in this game? You betcha, that would be a hoot.
