Walmart Demands Suppliers Cut In-Store Marketing Spends

When Walmart talks, suppliers listen. This time suppliers are being asked to cut back on advertising in its stores so the retailer can cut prices for consumers and improve its marketing spendssales.

The price cuts are part of a larger plan to give shoppers a better experience by the time the holiday season rolls around this year. In this article, the CEO of Walmart’s U.S. business weighs in on the strategy to explain, but (not surprisingly) no suppliers pipe up.
