Top Sites do not translate well on mobile phones

Posted on

Many of these sites are unaware of how much traffic they are getting from users on mobile devices.

Bango said that 5 percent of visitors to PC sites are coming from mobile devices, an increase from 1 percent last year.

The company also said anywhere from 3 to 10 percent of online traffic to any PC Web site now comes from users on mobile devices.

“Our figures indicate that up to 10 out of every 100 customers are now routinely entering web addresses from their phones and hitting a site designed only with PC users in mind, which results in a bad experience,” said Anil Malhotra, senior vice president of Marketing and Alliances at Bango.

He added, “Businesses should be asking now which handsets, countries and languages matter most to their business and developing a mobile strategy to match this.”

Sites that continue to ignore the mobile realm will regret their stubborn reactions, or lack thereof.
