Sixty percent of CFOs said their firms currently offer access to their products and services via the Internet, up from 47% two years ago, according to consulting firm RHI Management Resources.
In addition, 29% of the CFOs cited reduced implementation costs reasons for putting their products on he Web, up from 28% in 1999.
“Making products and services available online enhances a company’s speed to market, sales, competitiveness and customer contact,” said RHI executive director Paul McDonald, in a statement. “As consumers gain confidence and satisfaction in conducting Internet transactions, their demand for Web-based ‘browsing and buying’ options will continue to grow.”
The study recently polled 1,400 CFOs from U.S. companies with more than 20 employees.
