Computer manufacturer and direct marketer Gateway Inc., based in San Diego, has formed a strategic alliance with Vitech America, Inc., one of Brazil’s largest manufacturers and direct marketers of personal computers.
The alliance gives Vitech rights to enter into broad licensing and distribution agreements to produce, market and service Gateway-branded products for Brazilian businesses and consumers through Vitech’s existing manufacturing facilities and well-established channels of distribution.
The agreements also give Gateway the option to acquire Vitech at some point in the future, based on financial performance.
