Palo Alto-based ClickAction has introduced an e-mail matching service and an e-mail append service.
The E-mail Matching Service matches customer postal information supplied by a marketer against a number of e-mail databases. The owners of those matched names then receive an invitational e-mail from the marketer asking for permission for the marketer to communicate with them by e-mail. In the month and a half the service has been operating, less than 3% of customers have opted out, according to Geoff Smith, director of client programs at ClickAction.
The new Email Change of Address service first performs a thorough hygiene on an e-mail file. Then, the names are run through the E-mail Matching Service. Finally, the cleaned and updated e-mail addresses are sent an invitational e-mail asking if the marketer may contact them through e-mail.
ClickAction matches e-mail names against a 120 million e-mail-name database.
