A Baton Rouge, LA call center that once carried a $10 million payroll will close in a month, laying off 230 workers, according to wire service reports.
But another 140 will remain as the West Telemarketing facility completes a transition to ICF International, the firm managing The Road Home, Louisiana’s post-Hurricane Katrina housing recovery program.
West has transferred financial services and wireless phone customer service work away from Baton Rouge already, but some work for insurance customers and a TV shopping network was retained to bridge employees over to the ICF takeover.
