Sprint Ties with 24 Via Mobile Content

Sprint Nextel is giving fans of the show 24 a new way to experience the series via games, show-related quizzes and downloads.

The content is part of the company’s ongoing association with the hit Fox show and partnership with the Fox Broadcasting Co. Under the deal, Sprint is offering sneak peaks and cell phone downloads of images, ring tones and the 24 logo.

Sprint also will feature a Survival Guide manual updated each week, which includes tips to overcome dire circumstances that could arise during a “covert op.” To access the content, subscribers text “24” to JACK (5225) or visit Sprint.com/24.

“Utilizing 24’s innovative cross-divisional assets, we are able to deliver Sprint’s brand message to the 24 fan base,” said Jean Rossi, president of Fox Entertainment Group integrated sales, as well as executive vice president of Fox Broadcasting Co. Sales, in a statement. “We are confident that the devoted fans of 24 will enjoy the various and comprehensive brand extensions of the show.”

Customers can watch preview clips of future 24 shows on Sprint TV at 10 p.m. ET on Mondays or at Sprint.com/24 following the show’s broadcast.

Sprint will also kick off a sweepstakes offering a chance to win a trip to spy camp. To enter the 24 Covert Ops sweeps, subscribers can text “24” to JACK (5225) for a chance to win starting Feb. 3. The top prize is a trip to Incredible Adventures Covert Ops training in Sarasota, FL, where visitors can learn skills seen in the show. The package includes learning pistol marksmanship, counter-surveillance and self-defense methods, and participating in a mock hostage rescue mission.

The sweepstakes runs through June 30. Online materials support it. The company is targeting consumers who have Sprint Power Vision-capable phones.

In addition, Sprint will promote some of its products via in-show integration, focusing this year on its GPS offerings. The brand has been associated with the show since its first season. 24 airs at 9 p.m. ET Mondays on Fox.
