Turner Entertainment Promotes Johnson to SVP Promotions, Marketing

Turner Entertainment has promoted Katherine Johnson to senior vice president of promotions and marketing.

In her new role, Johnson oversees marketing opportunities to support the brand positionings of three of Turner’s cable netowrks: TNT (“We Know Drama”), TBS (“Very Funny”) and Court TV (“Seriously Entertaining”). She will continue to work to develop marketing partnerships for the network and original programming. The new position took effect yesterday.

Johnson is based out of New York City and reports to Linda Yaccarino, executive vice president, Turner entertainment ad sales and marketing.

Johnson previously worked as vice president of Turner Entertainment promotions and marketing where she oversaw a group that developed integrated campaigns representing the network brands. She worked on such deals as The Comedy Festival, including the Sierra Mist Stand Up or Sit Down Comedy Challenge and a user-generated comedy contest housed on MySpace.com

Before joining Turner, Johnson was at Time Warner’s global marketing solutions division, where she worked with Warner Bros. Studios, Warner Music, AOL, Turner Broadcasting System, Inc., and the Time Inc. publications. There, she led a number of marketing efforts for top brands, including Unilever and Kraft.
