South Carolina Secretary of State Mark Hammond filed a complaint Tuesday against On Guard Services Inc., a Greensboro, NC-based telemarketer.
The firm did fundraising for Greenville Police Association Local 2803, and has four additional contracts in other parts of the state. Secretary Hammond is asking the court for an injunction, which will halt their ability to solicit in South Carolina.
According to the court document, employees of On Guard Services did not fully and properly disclose the name of the organization for which they were fundraising
