Revenue Magazine Plans 125,000-Copy January Launch

Revenue magazine, an affiliate marketing publication, is planning a 125,000-copy, Jan. 14 launch. Distribution plans call for 30,000 copies to go to pre-registered subscribers and affiliates, 45,000 copies that will serve as solicitation mailers, and 50,000 newsstand copies, according to Nick Smith, Revenue’s publisher.

In addition to the 1,000 or so subscribers that have signed up through word of mouth, Revenue has inked agreements with the Association of Internet Marketing and Sales, the Affiliate Manager’s Resource and other organizations to sent solicitations and magazines to their house files.

The solicitation mailings, which will be sent out in polybags, will include the 88-page magazine, a cover letter and a bounce back card. The initial subscription price is $25, which covers a full-year term. Smith anticipates putting out four issues during 2004, and ramping up to 10 issues in 2005.

Revenue will focus on the affiliate marketing arena within e-commerce. Affiliate marketing is a practice used largely – but not exclusively – but small Web publishers under which they receive commissions for leading consumers from their sites to online merchants. The magazine practices what it preaches: According to Smith, outside sites that link to its subscription page, http://revenuetoday.com, may receive a $5 per subscription reward.
