Launchpad Advertising, a New York-based agency, has added two senior executives, Steve Carbone and Diana Schwartz, as agency partners. Carbone joins the agency from his position of president of Nurun’s North American operations. He was also president of G2 Direct and Digital. Before that, he was a founder of Grey Interactive. Schwartz joins Launchpad as the agency’s chief technology officer. Schwartz had previously served as chief technology officer at Grey E Marketing, Grey Direct and G2 Direct & Digital. Schwartz established the Online Marketing Educational Program at New York University and taught courses there for seven years.
The investment banking firm of Demeter Group has named Michelle Cherrick CEO. In a statement, chairman and founder Jeff Menashe lauded Cherrick’s knowledge of direct marketing and e-commerce companies, as well as specialty retail and restaurant operations. Cherrick began her investment banking career at Goldman Sachs and has since led consumer groups at Robertson Stephens, SG Cowen and, most recently Thomas Weisel Partners.
