One fan will have a fleeting shot at bowl game fame with a field goal attempt for a $25,000 prize at the Papajohns.com Bowl on Dec. 29.
To observe its 25th anniversary, Papa John’s will give a fan a chance to take home the cash prize if he or she can kick a 25-yard field goal during halftime festivities at the game between Rutgers and North Carolina State.
“It adds even more flair to what promises to be a terrific bowl game during the holiday season,” said Jim Ensign, Papa John’s vice president of marketing.
Wannabe field goal kickers can register for “Papa John’s Kick 4 Cash” by texting 25 to 4PAPA before the game. On game day, all registered kickers will be able to warm up in the Pep Rally area outside the stadium.
One of the amateur kickers, to be selected at random, will be notified at the end of the bowl game’s first quarter. All of the others who registered for the competition will receive a special offer from Papa John’s that will be good through the end of the year.
