The brand has redesigned its label and packaging materials to improve recognition and visibility at shelf.

The new look includes the traditional blue star, which has been enlarged in 3-D, as well as four legends pertaining to the beer on the back label. The design was created by Tayburn Co. in Edinburgh, Scotland.

“By making the iconic blue star bigger, the brand name easier to read and de-emphasizing some of the secondary elements, we feel we’re really going to grab the attention of new and loyal consumers,” said Bill Wetmore, marketing director of Scottish & Newcastle Importers, the maker of the beer, in a statement. “We also took the opportunity to share some of the rich tales of Newcastle on the back labels.”

The new design is featured on six- and 12-packs. Newcastle Brown Ale is the No. 13 imported beer in America, the company said.
