Miller Brewing Co. has named Tom Long, a long-time veteran of Coca-Cola, as its executive VP and chief marketing officer. The position takes effect July 1.
Long replaces Bob Mikulay, who is retiring after 30 years with Miller and its former corporate parent, Philip Morris. Charlie Frenette, also a former Coca-Cola executive, will serve as interim CMO.
At Coca-Cola, Long is president of its Northwest European Division, which includes Great Britain, Ireland, France, Belgium, Luxembourg and the Netherlands. During his tenure at Coca-Cola he has held several senior sales and marketing positions including VP-strategic marketing, with global responsibility for the company’s entire brand portfolio. He has also worked as head of worldwide marketing insights and research.
“Tom is a strong, decisive leader and his mandate is to take our marketing capability to the next level,” said Miller President and CEO Norman Adami in a statement.
