MERGERS: Havas Has U.S. Shopping List

Havas Advertising, which recently bought Snyder Communications for $2.1 billion, will continue acquiring agencies in this country, according to Patrick Lemarchand, chairman and chief executive officer, North American operations of Havas’ diversified agencies division. The next purchase will be an agency specializing in customer relationship management, Lemarchand said. He declined to name the shop since the companies were still negotiating, but noted, “Definitely we have not stopped acquisitions. There are companies out there that could enhance or fill in some niche or provide better service or new clients.” In other news, Euro RSCG Worldwide, a unit of Havas Advertising Group, Paris, acquired DRTV specialists The Tyee Group for The Sales Machine, Euro RSCG’s branded marketing services unit. Of the shops Havas picked up in the Snyder deal, Lemarchand predicted some 15% to 20% growth for Brann Worldwide and “much more from Circle.com.”
