Lands’ End Promotes Two

Lands’ End Inc., Dodgeville, WI, has promoted Deborah D. Barney to vice president of Coming Home, a specialty catalog of home products. Also, Philip W. Young has been named vice president and will be assuming the role of European managing director.

Barney had been managing director of Coming Home since joining the company in 1997. Previously, she spent three years with Norm Thompson Outfitters Inc., Hillsboro, OR, where she was vice president for Norm Thompson mail order and retail divisions. She took that job after working for 15 years in various positions at L.L. Bean, the Maine-based catalog company.

Young’s position will include overseeing the company’s phone center in Oakham, England, a marketing and telephone center in Mettlach, Germany, and a returns center in Amsterdam, Netherlands. Most recently, Young was managing director of new business development in the specialty business group. He joined Lands’ End in 1988 as product manager for co-ed casual wear.
