IAC/Interactive Corp reported a net loss of $42.6 million for the fourth quarter, compared to net income of $156 million during the same period last year.
The parent company of home shopping channel HSN, Ticketmaster, travel Web site Expedia.com and many other businesses, reported revenue of 1.9 billion or the quarter ended Dec.3, up 90% from $1.6 billion last year.
According to news reports, the News York-based firm’s earnings in the quarter were reduced because it wrote down the value of assets related to its call-center business and its TV Travel Shop unit by $218 million.
