Ford is offering a Dell Dimension PC with a flat panel monitor and a printer as an incentive to target first-time car buyers as well as younger individuals, said Ford Motor Corp. spokesman David Reuter.
“We hope the opportunity to get a car and a free computer system will be enticing,” Reuter said, adding that the first two weeks of the program, which started Feb. 1 and runs through March 31, has shown signs of early success.
Reuter said that when a consumer purchases the Ford Focus, they are given a password that will allow them to order the computer system by phone or online.
“Ford is always looking for innovative cross promotions, and we feel that the Dell works well with the Focus,” Reuter said.
