February Catalog Sales Boom for Sharper Image

Total sales for Sharper Image were $26.9 million in February, up 35% from $19.9 million a year ago. Catalog sales nearly doubled, jumping from $4.4 million to $8.7 million, while Internet sales were up 23%, to $3.6 million.

Retail sales rose 16% to $14.6 million.

The firm attributed customer response to Sharper Image’s television infomercials to the catalog channel’s success. Response to the infomercials contributed more than half of the catalog sales increase in February, said company founder Richard Thalheimer Thalheimer, in a statement.
