Estée Lauder Gets a New COO

Estée Lauder Cos. has named Dan Brestle, COO, a position vacated when William P. Lauder was named president and CEO last July.

Brestle had been group president and has been with the company for 25 years.

In his new role, he will be responsible for integrating branding, operations, marketing and sales. He will also oversee global operations, research and development, the Estée Lauder and M-A-C brands as well as specialty brands Prescriptives, Jo Malone, La Mer, Kate Spade Beauty and BeautyBank.

Last month, Estée Lauder reported first quarter sales of $1.5 billion, a 12% increase over $1.35 billion in the prior year. The quarter ended Sept. 30.
