Crown Royal is expanding a promotion tied to NASCAR to give one Texas adult the chance to have his or her name incorporated into the paint scheme of a racecar during a spring race.
Through March 15, Texas residents aged 21 and over can enter the Your Name Here sweeps at CrownRoyal.com/Texas. The winner’s name will be painted on the No. 26 Crown Royal Ford Fusion driven by Jamie McMurray during the NASCAR Nextel Cup Series at Texas Motor Speedway on April 15.
The winner will also be treated as a guest of honor at The Great American Speedway, receive two tickets and transportation to the race, a VIP pit tour and a seat to watch the race from the Crown Royal pit box.
“Texas has been one of Crown Royal’s biggest markets for some time, which is why we wanted to reward one adult consumer with a big Texas prize,” said Jim Lorenz, senior brand manager, Crown Royal.
Local radio, P-O-P displays and e-mail to Society of the Crown members who live in Texas support the effort.
The sweeps comes on the heels of another Crown Royal promotion in which Jim Stewart of Houma, LA, beat out about 15,000 other entrants to receive the naming rights to the NASCAR Nextel Cup Series race at Richmond International Raceway on May 5. That race will be titled “Crown Royal presents the Jim Stewart 400,” marking the first time in history that a race will be named after a fan, Crown Royal, a Diageo brand, said (PROMO Xtra, March 5, 2007).
